What do we do?

We are a Professional Services company, and our work is divided into technical investigations, feasibility studies, design for construction and construction management. Our staff are mainly civil and mechanical engineers, and much of our work involves water engineering. The areas we specialise in are described in more detail throughout the site.

We also act as Planning Supervisors under the CDM regulations and provide CDM training.

A big part of our work is investigations, studies and reports, which covers a wide range of schemes. We have recently carried out a number of Flood Risk Assessments for architects and developers in support of planning applications. We also carried out a condition survey of a tunnel beneath Gt Yarmouth harbour and a hydraulic assessment of a foul water pumping station which showed that it could cope with the extra flow from new development.

Thinking is much cheaper than building. We carry out feasibility studies for clients who want to put their investment into the best solution, which may not be the obvious answer. Occasionally, the report concludes that the best option is to do nothing. The studies are normally prepared as part of a capital investment programme, but the studies are often used for long term planning, and it may be years before the schemes come to fruition.

We have carried out studies for water distribution networks, sewage treatment, water treatment and industrial effluent disposal.

Some of the projects develop into construction. We prepare both concept and detail designs, either for the Client as part of a call for tenders or for the contractor in design and construct schemes. We also prepare contract documents and the associated pre-contract Health and Safety planning.

When the contract is awarded, we carry out site supervision, contract management, Planning Supervision. We can see a project through from initial feasibility to final account.
